Diane is a phenomenal host always responding promptly and making sure the house is ready and welcoming upon arrival. A perfect getaway before Christmas. "This is “The Place to Stay” in Little Washington, VA! Hosts have renovated down to a tee and thought of every detail and amenity to make your stay delightful. Loved this cottage and it’s decor and ease of in and out. A whole house to yourself, far better than a hotel room. Hated to leave!"
Mint Cottage is a revelation!
"Mint Cottage is a revelation! When we walked in, my wife said, "Can we just move in and live here?" Beautifully designed with many thoughtful touches, comfortable, functional and relaxing. Added bonus: stay here and really get to know the town of (Little) Washington, Virginia -- take a walk and see a charming town entirely separate from its famous restaurant. Very few things are worth paying a lot for -- this is most definitely one of them!"

"Wonderful experience is an understatement! The hosts were communicative, welcoming and generous and the home was immaculate and beautifully decorated. Just down the street from the Inn at Little Washington, Patty O’s and shopping. Perfect accommodations to get ready for a special evening with a large dressing closet with great lighting and a decked out bathing suite. If you’re looking for a romantic getaway, a cozy place for family time or even time to yourself I highly recommend this property."

"Wow. Just wow. Beautiful. Clean. Fresh. Feels new. Inviting from the outside. Tastefully decorated and yet very comfortable on the inside. Had all of the really nice touches. Loved the welcome basket/sign and the robes! Very convenient to the Inn at Little Washington. Highly recommend the Mint Cottage and host Diane."

"Perfect cottage! Beautiful views of the mountains. The host thought of everything to make our stay relaxing. We enjoyed the close proximity to the Inn at Little Washington and Patty Os for breakfast. A wonderful weekend getaway from DC. We can’t wait to return."

"Imagine a luxurious 5-star hotel suite, then add a fully-outfitted kitchen (you could really cook here, more than any Airbnb I've seen). Now place it in the stunning Virginia countryside, near the wild attractions of Shenandoah National Park, right outside a town with height-of-civilization restaurants and bakeries. We could not have asked for a better 3-day get-away spot than The Mint. It wowed us from the start and just kept delivering on comfort, thoughtful & stylish amenities, and peacefulness."
Better than staying at the actual inn.
"This place is better than staying at the actual inn. A very easy and short walk to everything Little Washington has to offer, but with a large kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom, laundry, etc. I am in my first trimester of pregnancy and the ability to lounge and cook meals was invaluable. We had told Diane that after 2 years of infertility we were celebrating our pregnancy and she was so sweet to include personalized touches for our arrival. The pictures are accurate but I found the cottage even lovelier than they could convey. When it came time to leave while we of course tidied there were no ridiculous instructions to take out trash or wash linens, so it really felt like being at a hotel. We have already recommended Mint Cottage to several friends and family. Probably the best airbnb I have ever been to."

"This place is exactly what we needed. Close to home, close to amazing restaurants, and a very relaxing atmosphere. Beautiful place and Diane has thought of everything including games, epsom salts for the luxurious tub, and the softest towels I have ever used. The bathrobes were an especially lovely touch. Hotel feel with Airbnb space. Highly recommend checking out the Rappahannock Pizza Kitchen. We will be back to enjoy in the summer!!"

"I had an amazing stay at the Mint Cottage! The home was spotless, stylishly decorated, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. I loved the holiday decorations, welcome sign, and basket with snacks. The highlight for me was the soaking tub. It was the perfect place to relax and recharge. I would highly recommend Diane and John's home. I will definitely stay again."

The Mint Cottage is absolutely beautiful!
"The Mint Cottage is absolutely beautiful, and the Christmas decorations were amazing. There were plenty of towels and other necessities. But what made our stay really nice were the extra touches ;such as, local coffee and cookies. Fantastic speakers and on and on. We are very happy we decided to stay at The Mint Cottage. Diane and John are experienced Bed and Breakfast proprietors and The Mint Cottage is evidence of their talent and professionalism."

"A perfect stay from start to finish; excellent accommodations and so much thought was put in to the amenities. We appreciated everything from a well stocked kitchen to the make up face cloths.
